The Effingham Minis U5-U6’s are coached by a dedicated group of volunteer parents who have attended RFU training courses.
Both Reception and Year 1 children are welcome to join the Minis U5-U6’s. We make the sessions fun and rewarding, encouraging the RFU ethos which is TREDS – Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
The sessions typically start with a group stretch and warm up but we then split into smaller groups so the children can participate in 6-8 fun exercises or games. When we split into groups, we take into account their Year Group to make sure the children are with others of a similar age. Lastly, we finish off with a fun group exercise, give out a couple of medals for the children who did well that week (don’t worry, they all get one eventually) and finish off with a hot dog in the clubhouse!
Sessions start at 10am and typically finish by 11:15am. We encourage parents to watch from the sidelines and support their child during the sessions and if you want to get really involved, you can sign up to help coach too!
You’re welcome to try a couple of sessions for free to make sure your child enjoys it before becoming a member. The season starts at the beginning of September and runs until the end of April.
