Director of Rugby

After a slow decline in the later part of the 2010s, Effingham and Leatherhead senior section are gradually bouncing back to produce competitive teams within a fun and social environment. Dan Leek has been spearheading the whole change in ethos and alongside Nick Butcher and Tony Robinson they bring a wealth of coaching experience. Their coaching and commitment allied to fantastic communication skills have seen player numbers rise and the skills have improved dramatically. Many of the players have come through the junior ranks and this is seen as a vital breeding ground in developing future talent. A number of the senior players and coaches actively help out with the junior age groups to encourage the same ethos throughout the club.

Senior training takes place twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7.30 – 9pm and the bar is open for refreshments afterwards. We have a fully stocked physio room and our resident physio, Jack is available on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The minis and juniors train each Sunday from 10am – 12 o’clock with some festivals and matches lasting a little longer into the afternoon. Needless to say the bar is open at lunchtime and excellent food and refreshments are available all morning.

The club puts a massive emphasis on playing hard on the pitch and having a great social time off the pitch. Numerous socials are organised throughout the season and there will always be a friendly face to share a drink after training or on matchday.

All standards of players are welcome and come down and give it a go as everyone will make you feel welcome.
