Battling the elements bitterly cold, windy, sleet, snow, rain, sunny day we ran in 7 tries to 1 and came away winning by 7 – 39,
Despite, a very lacklustre warm up – Probably due to the cold – The boys started the game flat out and were quickly into their game plan hitting hard up the middle and giving Esher absolutely no time on the ball. Our hands were good and we were regularly moving the ball down the line and the tries started to come. As always, our defence was rock solid and our line speed was excellent and from early on you could see that the opposition were looking up every time they had the ball.
The second half was more of the same with many of our players rampaging down the pitch at an increasingly tiring opposition to keep the score totting up. Our line out functioned well despite the blustery wind and cold, plus the penalty count was kept to a minimum.
So, given, we only had 16 players available this is yet another testament to the strength and resilience of the boys…… WELL DONE!
Roll on the final which is due to be on 14th April – keep the date free!!!
