Effingham visited John Fisher RFC who were sitting second in the table and immediately from the kick off found themselves under pressure.  The strong Fisher forwards punched over the gainline on numerous occasions with their off loading game paying dividends.  2 tries resulted in strong forward carries with both props going over from close range.  The backs got in on the act when the fly half looped around his centres to take a neat pass and fed the full back to score.  Within 10 minutes they were 2 tries to the good and within half an hour had racked up a bonus point with their fourth try.

Effingham struck back when good forward pressure saw the ball moved out wide where full back Joe Triegaardt touched down.  John Fisher scored a further try on the stroke of half time to take the score to 31 – 5 at the break.

This lead was widened within 5 minutes of the restart when good hands saw the wing man scuttle up the left wing to fly in at the corner.  Effingham dug in and excellent box kicking by scrum half Chris Ballard saw the Fisher back 3 fail to deal with the aerial bombs and wingman Tom Durbridge managed to force the penalties.  Good field position saw their pressure turn to points when in quick succession Jo Blunt then Seb Williams went over.

Effingham continued to keep the pressure on in search of the bonus point for scoring 4 tries but Fisher kept them out to run out 36 – 19 winners.
