Second placed Kingston visited lowly placed Effingham and the home side certainly made a game of it. The match was in the balance until the last 10 minutes when Kingston finally pulled away with 2 quick tries.

Kingston started the game brightly when their forwards punched holes around the fringes and within 10 minutes had scored 14 points to a solitary Effingham penalty. The home side got into their stride when good approach play saw full back Joe Triegaardt go over using his speed to get across the line and then they took the lead when skipper Matt Manning bundled his way over to give the home side a 15-14 lead. Kingston hit back with a third converted try before centre Charlie Blunt went over on the stroke of half time to make the score at the break 20 – 21 in Kingstons favour.

Kingston kept the pressure up in the second period and the 2 late tries saw them run out 35 – 20 winners.
