The A’s played Guildfordians A’s in the Presidents Shield Final on Sunday.
A more mature set of boys took to the field on Sunday in the final game of the season and provided a fantastic display of flowing supporting rugby and bulldozing runs to win the game by 14 tries to 2.
Tries from Joe (2) Jude(2) Jake, Lucas, Tom Clarke, Sam Hinton (2), Barry, Conrad, Eliot and Aaron (2) while the remainder did the work in the trenches ensuring quick ball from the breakdown and many turnovers when the opposition did get their hands on the ball. T
he dominance of the Eagles ensure some lively banter between the teams and although our first yellow card of the year (rule books still being checked) slowed the flow for 5 minutes in the second half, the boys ended with a try in the last play by effervescent Aaron.
A great display by the team of all-round rugby, grunt, gas and champagne all in one game. Bring on the next Season!!!
